A revolutionary sensor and processor combination

The 24.1MP stacked BSI CMOS sensor and DIGIC X processor underpin the performance of the Canon EOS R3. This duo offers a significant leap in speed and image quality, making it ideal for both stills and video.

24.1MP Stacked BSI CMOS Sensor

The stacked sensor design is the first of Canon’s EOS series. It dramatically reduces rolling shutter effects, allowing for high-speed shooting without compromising image quality. The back-illuminated design of the sensor improves light gathering efficiency, resulting in cleaner images with less noise, even at high ISO settings.

DIGIC X Processor

The DIGIC X processor not only powers the camera’s rapid shooting capabilities but also enhances its overall responsiveness. It supports a wide ISO range of 100-102400, expandable to 50-204800, ensuring the EOS R3 can handle a variety of lighting conditions with ease.

Advanced Autofocus and Image Stabilization

Canon has always been a leader in autofocus technology, and the EOS R3 continues this tradition with its Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II

With 1053 automatic AF points covering the entire sensor area, the Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system is both quick and accurate. It intelligently tracks subjects, including eyes, faces, and vehicles, ensuring sharp focus in every shot. The system performs exceptionally well in low light, with a focusing capability down to -7.5 EV.

Eye Control AF

The EOS R3’s reintroduction of Eye Control AF is a standout feature. This intuitive system allows you to select your focus point simply by looking at it through the viewfinder, providing a more natural and efficient shooting experience.

In-body Image Stabilization (IBIS)

The 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilizer compensates for camera shake, making it possible to shoot handheld in low-light conditions or when recording video. When paired with lenses that have optical stabilization, the system can correct up to 8 stops of shake.

Professional-grade video recording

The Canon EOS R3 is more than just a stills camera; it’s also a formidable video production tool.

6K Raw and 4K 120p Recording

The camera’s 24MP sensor supports 6K 60p raw recording internally, providing stunning detail and flexibility in post-production. Additionally, the EOS R3 offers 4K 120p recording, which is ideal for capturing slow-motion footage with exceptional clarity.

HDR and External Recording Capabilities

The EOS R3 supports HDR-PQ recording for in-camera HDR production. It also features a micro-HDMI port for clean 4K output to external recorders, making it versatile for professional video workflows.

Rugged Design and Connectivity

Built to withstand the rigors of professional use, the Canon EOS R3’s body is both robust and ergonomic.

5.76m-Dot EVF and Vari-Angle LCD

The high-resolution electronic viewfinder offers a clear and immersive shooting experience, while the vari-angle touchscreen LCD allows for flexible framing, whether you’re shooting from high, low, or front-facing angles.

Dual memory card slots

The EOS R3 features dual memory card slots, including a CFexpress Type B slot for rapid data transfer and an SD UHS-II slot for additional storage options.
