At the heart of the GFX 100S lies a powerful 102MP BSI CMOS Sensor with 43.8 x 32.9mm dimensions. Owing to the extremely large resolution and sensor dimensions, the camera can capture stills at a brilliant 16 stops of dynamic range. And with an ISO range of 100-12800, which extends all the way to ISO 50-102400 the camera is ready to tackle anything in both low light and extremely bright scenery. The large sensor area provides better light gathering, clearer tones and contrast to give you the classic larger than life medium format look. The built in 5-Axis Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization means you don’t have to worry about any handheld shakes while working. When working with a built in OIS lens, you get 6 stops of image stabilization.

The large sensor size makes the GFX 100S excel in video too. The camera shoots UHD and DCI 4K30p video at both 4:2:0 10-bit and 4:2:2 10-bit via HDMI output. Using the Atomos Ninja, it is even possible to get UHD 4K30p raw 12-bit output on the Apple ProRes RAW format. In addition to this, you also have the F log gamma setting that shoots a flat image for further processing and color grading.
